Backbone Segment

Harbinger offers solutions to increase backbone performance to 10 Gb/s using multi mode technology.  Not long ago, traditional backbone data rates have been less than 1 Gb/s and the most commonly deployed components ran on standard multi mode fiber cable using LED light sources.  Now that we are in the Gb/s era, LED technology has reached its limit.  The advent of the 850 nm vertical cavity surface emitting lasers has brought a new breath to the cost-effective multi mode solutions.  The combination of VCSEL technology and laser-optimized multi mode fiber sets the migration path to 10 Gb/s, using low cost uncomplicated 10GBASE-SR solutions that operate at the 850 nm window.

HCI designs, installs and services a full range of indoor, outdoor, and everywhere fiber optic cables in multi mode, single mode and hybrid configurations.  Our installation are tested, certified, and documented, using, when appropriate, a combination of OLTS, VFL, and OTDR test instruments.  Having access to design specifications and installation documentation will greatly assist in any future trouble shooting.  Our solutions are completely backward compatible with legacy LAN applications, allowing you to continue running your existing Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, SONET, and Token Ring networks
